The list of articles published over the past few months.. Most of us took the tortured road of youthful idiotic leftism before we understood that human nation cannot be changed and the only way to enforce leftist-liberal redistribution is through terror. It is not as long as Hugh Hefner's pompous opus, but then again, we did not write it in pijamas waited upon hand and foot by All-American beauties. Still, liberal domination of political humor must end. Most of these are still funny, as when we had a picture of Fidal Castro bawling because he was scheduled to host the 1990 Dictator's Ball, and so many had fallen the previous two years. Also has the classic, first-ever-in print demand to end Christmas as a legal holdiay, accurately forecasting idiocies of libs 10 years ahead of time. |

Winning hearts & minds The Way to True Peace and Respect in the Middle East By F. JJ. Kiel
Did the Allied powers try to prevail in World War II by “winning the hearts and minds” of the citizens of Germany and Japan? No, we tried to kill as many of them as possible, civilian as well as military, until they surrendered. The United States has not won a war since World War II. When we go to war, maybe we should stop trying to win the hearts and minds of the countries we attack and kill some people. We can start with our civil war when the North inflicted such horrendous devastation on the South that no state ever thought seriously of succeeding unilaterally again. While Germany has certainly backtracked, given the genetic sense of superiority of its people, Germans and Japanese have mostly been among America’s best friends since the end of World War II. How has that been possible, when we killed hundreds of thousands of not only young soldiers but also women and children, especially in horrific fire bombings on Dresden and Tokyo, and of course the atomic bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Both nations entered that global conflict convinced that their cultures were superior to any others on the planet, which they believed would allow them to conquer territory that contained far more populations than their own countries. They also planned to make the “inferior” peoples slaves and rule over them for thousands of years. Both Germany and Japan believed that America was morally weak, both because of its democratic system and its multi-racial mixture – well, at the time, that the United States had a large black minority of 10-15%. They learned differently, and decisively, when we leveled their cities and industrial infrastructure and killed thousands of civilians who happened to be in the way. The Nazis and the Japanese militarists convinced their populations that they would win that world war and promised that they were so powerful, that the Allies would never be able to mount offensive operations against their cities. Big mistake. Because the German army was allowed to sign an armistice to conclude World War I and march home with flags flying, right-wing militarists including Hitler were able to convince Germans that they had not actually lost that world but had received a “stab in the back” that forced a powerful military to stand-down. The Japanese had begun their imperialist expansion at the beginning of the 20th of the Western powers. In World War II, we not only pulverized their cities but we pulverized their will. Historians, politicians and the Defense Department have obfuscated American military forays since 1945 but nearly every one has been characterized by public American goals of not destroying the enemy regime, just “correcting” its ways. In the Korean war, President Truman wanted only to push the North Koreans back to their original positions across the 38th parallel. Gen. Douglas MacArthur, vainglorious, eager to claim all responsibility for victories and slough off defeats on inferiors, understood that to win the war, the United Nations forces had to destroy the North Korean communist regime. MacArthur was well on his way to doing just that, but he was alas a racist and had only contempt for the newly victorious Communist government in China. The war would have gone much better if MacArthur had respected the Chinese potential, especially because the Red Army was battle-hardened through 30 years of continuous fighting and victory over a much larger Nationalist army supplied with the latest Western weapons. In Vietnam, that idiot President Johnson sent American troops into combat by promising the invading North Vietnamese regime that we would not overthrow them. The Communists feinted us by saying they would return to the jungles to begin a guerrilla war if the United States invaded, but how realistic is that men who had grown accustomed after nearly 20 years of luxury would want to return to soggy jungle redoubts, if all they had to do to stay in plush quarters was to halt the war. The North Vietnamese successfully framed the struggle as a civil war, but they totally controlled the guerrillas of South Vietnam and sent tens of thousands of soldiers south along with millions of tons of supplies to overwhelm their adversary, safe that the United States may bomb their infrastructure but would never try to carry out an Inchon-like invasion behind North Vietnamese lines and destroying them. A surrender would have come quickly and 55,000 Americans would not have had to die in a war in which we declared we would not try to win. Then we had the Lebanese fiasco. President Reagan sent in the Marines to stop the Lebanese from killing each other. When Iranian-backed groups sent in suicide bombers to destroy the American embassy, killing over 50 Americans, and the Marine barracks, killing nearly 300 Marines, Reagan ordered a battleship to shell the uninhabited desert for a day or two and then withdraw all U.S. military forces. Big mistake. A higher proportion of Lebanese civilians hated us than did Germans and Japanese, but they got off scot-free. Instead, the entire Muslim world drew the lesson that you could attack America with impunity, without fear of the most drastic response, a commitment to destroy and replace the regime that carried out the attack. |
